took a walk around amerikamura and dotonbori for my last night in osaka. not many pictures worth posting here, but i like what i was able to get.

dotonbori and amerikamura being right next to each other is kind of crazy. dotonbori is full of neon signs, tightly packed businesses and stalls, and tourists everywhere. amerikamura feels like the sketchiest neighborhood in japan. in the 10 minute walk from my airbnb to dotonbori, i was… i don’t actually know if sexually harassed is the right phrase here, but i guess “accosted” by 4 different women who ran up to me with their phones out and showed me their google translate app featuring some wild phrases i did not know google translate would be willing to say. last night i was getting english propositions for “sexy ladies massage”, but tonight they were not that vague about it. it was unreal. im just a dude walking down the street. maybe dudes who look like me often come here for that. maybe i look like the target demo or something.

but even after declining, some of them kept going and followed me, actually begging. insane. i was just trying to take pictures of the city ma’am. i’m good.
